Metal Machinist

Overview

Valiant has an exciting opportunity for a Metal Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to provide technical support to the customer's fabrication and manufacturing shops. This position is 100% onsite.

• Design and machine custom pieces and parts
• Identify and implement strategic improvements and solutions that are in line with the customer's vision and mission
• Create and manage schedules for prioritized approved work requirements
• Ensure industry and customer standards and best practices are followed for all requirements
• Provide detailed guidance on proper use, general machine maintenance, and minor repairs to shop equipment
• Oversee the management of consumables and procurement support
• Provide input on shop safety best practices and maintenance of the shop safety plan, to include application of OSHA standards
• Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND

EDUCATION:

BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience.

• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in the metal working discipline(s)
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in mechanical skills instruction
• Possess Machine Certification from an apprentice program
• Demonstrated CAD/CAM experience
• Demonstrated ability to aid others in design and troubleshooting of mechanical component designs
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple taskings and adapt quickly to changing requirements
• Demonstrated experience working independently, as well as part of a team, including strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated experience and literacy with Microsoft Office suite

• Demonstrated proficiency with Feature Cam
• Demonstrated knowledge of metal finishing processes to include anodizing, painting, and powder coating.

Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees. This job will primarily be in an Office Setting. The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
