Job : | Amazon Data Services, Inc.
Are you passionate about large power infrastructure systems? Do you love to innovate, discover, and apply your knowledge to advance world‑class systems? Do you get excited about the idea of pushing the boundaries of power systems to handle the latest emerging technology? We are seeking a power systems engineer with experience in power systems and energy storage to support our growing requirements for novel solutions to delivering power to AWS data centers.
We are looking for a candidate with a track record of working on difficult power system problems and deep understanding of energy and power systems. As a Sr. Power Systems Engineer, Energy Storage you will work within the Power Generation Solutions team to develop advanced electrical systems, model and evaluate power flow, design energy storage requirements, and lead design integration to maximize the capacity out of our systems.
You will own challenging problems that span multiple teams and drive technical decisions that impact AWS’ global infrastructure strategy. You will work on the technical strategy of different power and energy configurations, including developing optimization and control logic to ensure that we can exceed our customers’ expectations for delivering highly available power at the lowest costs for our data centers.
You will work across multiple organizations, including utility‑facing teams, data center and hardware engineering teams, compute and software teams, operations, finance, legal, and public policy teams to advance new concepts. Your technical expertise on power systems and energy storage will guide cross‑functional teams in making critical design decisions, evaluating trade‑offs, and managing technical risks across complex power systems. Amazon has a global presence, therefore, domestic and international travel may be necessary.
Teamwork is absolutely necessary for us to accomplish our goals. You must be able to work within a team and collaborate with others to accomplish the required tasks. This includes working with internal groups as well as external suppliers and consultants, including utilities, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.
