Senior Mortgage Loan Officer - Outside Sales

Apply at Fulton Bank. This is a remote, commissioned career opportunity that can be based out of Northern VA/DC/MD. The role requires more than 80% of working time spent outside the Fulton office building relationships and soliciting first mortgages with realtors, builders, accountants, and other external referral sources.

• Develop and expand referral sources outside of Fulton Bank to solicit first mortgages and create a continual stream of origination volume. Maintain regular contact with realtors in their offices and on site at open house events, meet with builders on job sites to discuss lending options, regularly seek opportunities to meet with developers, participate in trade shows, mixers, and maintain contact with external centers of influence such as attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors.
• Collect and analyze applicant’s financial information to determine eligibility for a loan. Interview applicants, gather income, assets, investments, debt, credit history, prior bankruptcies, judgments, liens, property characteristics, and other relevant data. Evaluate needs against available products, recommend suitable financial products, and advise on risks, benefits, options, and terms of mortgage loans.
• Engage in persuasive sales activities to encourage potential customers to do business with Fulton Mortgage Company.
• Perform work related to the loans originated: obtain and analyze financial and credit data, follow current loans to ensure conformity with terms, follow up with prospective customers via telephone and email, complete paperwork, prepare supporting materials, attend company meetings, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 4 or more years of recent residential mortgage lending experience, including experience in the local market.
• 4 or more years of proven ability to develop referral sources from contacts and relationships outside the organization.

This position is fully commissioned.
