Emergent Technologies Inc., a veteran‑owned technology company supporting mission‑critical government programs, is seeking a Senior Database Engineer with deep expertise in database design, performance optimization, and data management. In this role, you will play a key part in designing secure, scalable database environments that support enterprise‑level applications and cloud initiatives.

• Design and manage database systems aligned with evolving business and user requirements.
• Proactively monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement optimization strategies.
• Develop and maintain schemas, tables, views, and data dictionaries; support data migration and transformation activities.
• Design and execute robust backup and recovery solutions to safeguard against data loss or corruption.
• Partner with developers, system administrators, and analysts to ensure data consistency and support application development efforts.
• Secure databases against unauthorized access, ensuring adherence to relevant cybersecurity and compliance standards.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation for database architecture, configurations, and performance metrics.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 16 years of relevant experience in database engineering or administration.
• Strong experience with cloud databases, cross‑domain solutions, and big data platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with leading database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex data problems and system performance issues.
• Ability to translate business requirements into efficient database designs and queries.

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of hands‑on data engineering experience, with recent experience in the last 2 years.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise database engineering roles.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud architectures, data pipeline tools, and modern data storage frameworks.
