Emergent Technologies Inc., a veteran-owned IT and engineering services firm based in Herndon, VA, is seeking a skilled Network Engineer with at least six years of experience in network architecture, deployment, and support. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity to contribute to innovative, mission-driven technology solutions across government and enterprise environments.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred)
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in network engineering, design, and operations

Candidates must demonstrate hands‑on experience and proficiency in the following areas:

• Network architecture, design, and implementation for enterprise or large‑scale environments
• Core network technologies:
  • Routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP, ISIS
  • Switching protocols: STP, LACP, VTP
  • Network automation and scripting for configuration and management
  • Cloud networking environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Software‑defined networking (SD‑WAN) solutions
  • Knowledge of deploying and supporting MPLS networks

• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Skilled in producing technical documentation, including design diagrams, implementation plans, and operational procedures
• Comfortable presenting technical designs to review boards and leadership teams

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues
• Proven ability to learn and implement new technologies independently
• Self‑motivated, independent learner with a commitment to technical excellence

• Experience with network design and operations in large‑scale, multi‑site environments
• History of improving network performance, reliability, and scalability
