Lead Network and Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Network and Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA.

• Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable network and related infrastructure solutions across enterprise and mission-critical environments.
• Perform network capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Ensure network architecture and infrastructure complies with federal security standards for the respective national security customer (e.g., DISA STIGs, FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53).
• Develop and maintain documentation including network and infrastructure diagrams, SOPs, and contingency plans.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, systems engineering, and cloud teams to align on end-to-end architecture, and to support implementation, maintenance and incident response.
• Manage vendor relationships, evaluate tools, and implement new technologies as appropriate.
• Support ATO/accreditation efforts and participate in security audits and assessments.
• Provide escalation support and technical leadership during network incidents and outages.
• Interact with other area Leads to understand dependencies and technical resources to craft a repeatable architecture solution.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field OR additional equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of experience in network engineering; 3+ years in a technical leadership role
• Strong experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto technologies
• Expert level architecture creation and support experience; strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
• Proficiency in routing/switching, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing in enterprise and secure environments
• Experience supporting federal networks and knowledge of RMF, DISA STIGs, or NIST 800-53
• Familiarity with Cloud network integrations (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, etc.)
• Experience with Terraform scripting or AWS/Cloud Formation
• Prior experience supporting the Intelligence Community

• Certifications:
  
  CCNP, CISSP, CEH, JNCIP, or similar
• Experience with SD-WAN, Zero Trust architecture, or hybrid-Cloud networking
• Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, CMMC)

• Must have active TS/SCI with Polygraph

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
