AI Engineer, Data Analyst
Overview
Are you excited to help the U.S. Intelligence Community design, build, and implement AI algorithms, including advanced Generative AI solutions, to augment decision making while meeting the highest standards for reliability, transparency, and scalability? The Amazon Web Services (AWS) U.S. Federal Professional Services team works directly with U.S. Intelligence Community agencies and other public sector entities to achieve their mission goals through the adoption of Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI methods.
In this role, you will work closely with customers to deeply understand their data challenges and requirements, and design tailored solutions that best fit their use cases. You should have broad experience building models using all kinds of data sources, and building data‑intensive applications should possess excellent business acumen and communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, develop key business questions, and translate requirements into actionable solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with AI/ML scientists and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate AI algorithms to address real‑world challenges.
- Interact with customers directly to understand the business problem, help and aid them in implementation of AI solutions, deliver briefings and deep‑dive sessions, and guide them on adoption patterns and paths to production.
- Create and deliver best‑practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
- Provide customer and market feedback to product and engineering teams to help define product direction.
- Support peers and reflect industry best practices while driving innovation in the field of data science and AI.
- Travel locally up to 25% as required.
- 4+ years of data scientist experience.
- 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab).
- Experience with statistical models such as multinomial logistic regression.
- Experience managing data pipelines and data visualization using tools such as AWS Quick Sight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc.
- Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team.
- Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Ability to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which AWS performs work.
The candidate must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. For salaried roles, your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
Colorado: $159,200 - $215,300 annually
National: $143,300 - $247,600 annually
