Mauck Research Group is a small cyber research and development company exploring emerging offensive and defensive cyber problems for our clients. This role focuses on providing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/SE Linux based high‑performance computing (HPC) services throughout the lifecycle for federal government customers.
The program provides key supercomputing capabilities for solving important problems in science and technology. This work involves cutting‑edge HPC technologies to ensure that scientists and engineers can fully utilize modern HPC systems.
RoleThe successful candidate will be a senior level Systems Administrator supporting Linux based users on a Multi‑Level Security (MLS) network. Responsibilities include configuration management, build automation, release engineering, server infrastructure management, troubleshooting end‑user issues, improving performance on RHEL platforms, and ensuring security compliance of deployed systems.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline and a minimum of 6 years of professional level experience.
- Security+ certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with configuration and change management tools such as Git and SVN.
- Expertise with Linux Operating Systems and troubleshooting end‑user issues independently in a lab environment.
- Knowledge of data communications and networking.
- Experience as a Linux Administration/Systems Engineer.
- Proficiency with Linux Red Hat Operating Systems, computer networking, and communication systems.
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite or similar provisioning software.
- Familiarity with identity management systems including LDAP and token‑based authentication.
- Ability to create bash scripts and Ansible playbooks.
- Experience with Splunk, Security Center, Nessus.
- Experience with Lustre, NFS, and file system administration.
- SELinux experience: configuration and policy.
- Agile process experience and knowledge of Atlassian suite (Confluence, JIRA, etc).
- Customer/user representative collaboration.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
$150,000 - $225,000 per year
