Information System Security Officer, Classified Cybersecurity

TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph required.

This position will perform duties as an Information Systems Security Officer at the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Herndon, Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day information system security operations including hardware and software implementations.
• Carry out technical security administration of IS in accordance with internal LM and customer cybersecurity requirements, primarily the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Upkeep, monitor, analyze, and respond to network and security events.
• Document compliance actions within the approved automated compliance tracking system or develop a plan of actions and milestones (POA&M) with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to address non‑compliance in the allotted time frame.
• Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the security plan.
• Audit systems regularly.

Basic Qualifications

• TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
• Have and maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Hands‑on experience with industry standard Information Assurance tools.
• Technical familiarity with Windows or UNIX‑based operating systems and their security requirements.

Desired Skills

• Information Systems auditing experience.
• Experience working with ICD 503 and/or DAAPAM.
• Experience with industry standard Information Assurance tools such as STIG Viewer, Nessus, and Splunk.
• Experience working with eMASS.
• Experience performing security system hardening, analysis, vulnerability management, DISA STIGs.
• Prior Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) or System Administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience.

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility. Schedules range from a standard 40‑hour week to condensed schedules that offer additional time off, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Position

9x80 with every other Friday off.
