Overview
Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI) is looking for an experienced Senior Windows Client Systems Engineer with deep knowledge of Windows desktop services, including virtual desktops and infrastructure. Our mission is to deliver robust, highly available, and easy to use services to internal customers in support of the Amazon Dedicated Cloud for U.S. Government customers. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and enhancing existing services, including Windows build/deployment capabilities, application packaging/deployment, and break/fix scenarios for all technologies the team manages.
The role collaborates with the Security Compliance team to ensure security compliance across all desktop environments.

Key responsibilities- Oversee deployment, configuration, and management of core ADC services, including directory services, file and print, DNS/DHCP, application servers, and management of server hardware and infrastructure.
- In the first six to twelve months: adapt and improve operations management systems to accommodate rapid growth, drive expedient resolution and root cause analysis for critical issues, mentor and develop a team of Operational Engineers, and bring continuous improvement to operational processes.
- Balance upfront cost with usability, operability, and total cost of ownership (TCO) for datacenter and on-site services.
- Lead the development and delivery of system health monitoring, diagnostics, repair, and self-healing automation; develop automation tools to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
- Drive improvements in monitoring and Visualization of system health, maintenance task status, and reporting systems.
- Associate's degree or higher, or Cloud+ or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner).
- Eight (8+) years supporting Windows family operating systems, including four (4) of the following: AD, DHCP, Power Shell, Email workflow, SCCM, SCOM, Windows OS, DNS, and disaster recovery/business continuity.
- Four (4) years of scripting experience in the Windows environment (Power Shell).
- Experience automating tasks such as software packaging/deployment, automated security patching, and operating system deployment.
- Experience administering, maintaining, and operating Active Directory Windows-based networks.
- Demonstrable ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize needs, and deliver measurable results.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, Run-books, and Job Sheets.
This role requires that the candidate be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The candidate may need to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Compensation & BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is listed below. The package includes sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location. AWS offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
