BAE Systems, Inc. is looking for an experienced Technology Operations Lead to join our IT program supporting a key government customer in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment. This program delivers always-available enterprise computing engineering services with modern technology solutions for the customer workforce on-premises and via remote Cloud services. As the mission-focused Tech Ops Lead you will be expected to maintain situational awareness of planned and unplanned operations;

act as the primary, government-interfacing POC for unplanned outages – communicating and collaborating across the organization; challenge norms and demand a more robust systems thinking approach; and, drive operational innovation through the use of new and existing Service Now capabilities.

Duties Include:

• Act as the contractor lead for the team of the customer's enterprise computing services organization, directly supporting the government lead for operations
• Serve as the primary POC for coordinating the contractor workforce response and communication during unplanned incidents, which can occur after normal business hours
• Establish appropriate communication channels (email, Skype, and/or face-to-face) when dealing with a real-time service degradations or outages and deliver updates via those channels at the appropriate frequency to appropriate
• Lead matrixed and mixed teams to improve operations planning (ensuring all system impacts are considered)
• May be asked to be the BAE people management leader
• Promote an operational environment that is focused on a systems-thinking approach to project planning and event/incident management
• Provide input to after-action reports (AARs); both external and internal reports that highlight and promote COBALT support to customer services
• Use existing Service Now and JIRA queues to develop and deliver metrics that enable the operations team to adopt a continuous improvement mindset
• Lead development of Key Process Indicators (KPIs) to create dashboards that proactively alert to concerns about the health of customer's IT systems
• Create and Maintain Schedules. This includes identifying and decomposing activities, continually updating dates, assigned personal, and dependencies
• Identify roadblocks in the teams work. Take initiative to highlight them when talking with contract leadership and the client, ensure work continues as scheduled
• Perform Agile development activities such as daily scrums and other sprint meetings

• Minimum of 6 years' experience leading technical teams or in lead roles in an IT operations environment, and a Bachelor's Degree.
• Ability to synthesize IT operations and engineering updates into concise, value-added updates to senior customer leadership
• Ability to identify gaps in operational communications and communicate appropriate questions to service teams; must have an investigative mindset
• Strong communication and writing skills (Communication exercise during interview; Writing sample required upon request)
