Systems Administrator

Job Description War Collar  Industries is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support the design, administration, security, and scalability of cloud infrastructure and database environments. This role will maintain the infrastructure hosting critical applications across development, testing, training, and production environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.

Working alongside Software Developers, Dev Ops Engineers, and Data Engineers, the Systems Administrator will help deliver secure, scalable infrastructure that enables mission-critical software to operate efficiently and reliably. The ideal candidate brings strong systems design experience, database administration expertise, and a proactive approach to improving infrastructure performance, security, and scalability.,Required Skills

Core Responsibilities:

Database & Cloud

Infrastructure: Deploy, configure, manage, and secure AWS resources, including EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, Cloud Watch, and VPC. Support database sizing, administration, performance optimization, and server security.

Dev Ops & CI/CD:
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using Git Lab, Git Hub, or Jenkins.

Containerization & Kubernetes:
Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized environments to support reliable application development and deployment.

Systems Administration & Security:
Perform routine maintenance, vulnerability scanning, patch management, and system troubleshooting across physical and cloud infrastructure. Manage VPNs and maintain current SSL/TLS certificates.

Systems Architecture & Scalability:
Design and implement secure infrastructure enhancements to support new capabilities, resolve technical issues, and improve system performance, availability, and scalability.

Infrastructure Optimization:
Maintain and improve software and infrastructure architecture by applying operational best practices, identifying opportunities for automation, and proactively addressing performance and reliability concerns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with software development, Dev Ops, and data engineering teams to maintain stable environments, support deployments, and ensure infrastructure meets evolving technical and operational requirements.,Desired Skills

Required Qualifications SQL Databases: 7+ years of experience working with SQL databases, including database administration, sizing, and performance optimization.

Operating Systems: 4+ years of experience administering Linux or Windows environments.

Elasticsearch: 2+ years of experience working with Elasticsearch environments.

Kubernetes: 2+ years of experience deploying, administering, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.

Cloud

Infrastructure: Experience provisioning, securing, and maintaining AWS services and cloud-based infrastructure.

Dev Ops & CI/CD:
Experience supporting automated build and deployment pipelines using Git Lab, Git Hub, or Jenkins.

Systems Design:
Demonstrated experience designing, maintaining, and improving secure, scalable systems infrastructure.

Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.

Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary technical teams.,About War Collar Industries
