Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Assembly Technician, where you will be instrumental in assembling and testing optical systems according to delivery schedules. This role involves working with complex lens and mirror systems, integrating assemblies with electronics, and performing detailed optical and mechanical testing.
Responsibilities- Assemble and align multi-element lens and mirror systems and sub-assemblies.
- Integrate opto-mechanical assemblies with electronics.
- Perform optical and mechanical Test & Evaluation.
- Assist with the inspection of incoming optical, mechanical, and electronic components.
- Proficiency with hand tools and blueprints.
- Experience in mechanical assembly.
- Understanding of proper handling of precision optics, mirrors, lenses, and filters.
- High degree of precision, fine motor skills, and patience.
- Ability to use a microscope.
- Capability to read complex assembly drawings, diagrams, and instructions, and follow a logical sequence or a specific set of rules.
You will be working in a small team environment within a company that is in the early stages of growth. The role requires the ability to sit and concentrate for extended periods. You must also be able to read and communicate clearly in English.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Herndon, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
