Overview

Assistant Meat/Seafood Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market leads a fast‑paced team in providing exceptional customer service and product quality. You share expertise, train staff, and support the store’s health, safety, and sanitation standards.

• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Order, inventory control, product quality, and supervise the Meat & Seafood team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Lead a team that delivers the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience to customers.
• Hire, teach, train, and develop the Meat & Seafood team.
• Enforce department practices regarding receiving, stocking, and unloading of product; follow the “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.
• Unload and sort store deliveries; operate and maintain meat & seafood equipment.
• Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and validate that team members follow these procedures.

• At least 18 years of age; basic math, weights, and measures knowledge.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience, proven leadership experience, and 2‑3 years grocery retail experience in Meat department processes and procedures.
• Dependable, reliable, and able to perform other duties as assigned.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude interacting with customers.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills; take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and Company recipes.
• Capable of standing up to 4 hours continuously; total of 8 hours per shift; walk up to 2 miles per shift.
• Work inside a temperature controlled area.
• Good vision required for using sharp knives and other equipment.
• Lift/carry products horizontally/vertically between 25 to 90 lbs; 4” to 60”; distance up to 10 feet for 20 hours.
• Use pallet jack to move pallets horizontally up to 500 lbs; force up to 85 lbs; distance up to 100 feet for up to 5 hours.
• Move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs; force up to 25 lbs; distance up to 50 feet for up to 10 hours.
• Move tables weighing up to 70 lbs; force greater than 35 lbs; distance up to 2 feet for up to 1 hour.
