Overview

Yorktel is seeking a Sales Account Manager - Public Sector to join our public sector sales organization. The Sales Account Manager will build and foster strategic relationships with senior leaders across government to lead digital transformation, and will work with government leaders to merge mission needs with engineering roadmaps to enable market-making innovations.

Responsibilities

The Sales Account Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Business Strategy — Understand the government customer’s mission, mission strategy, and related industry direction to build and manage a long-term, sustainable business portfolio.
  • Digital Transformation — Bring innovative ideas that demonstrate change and Yorktel’s unique value proposition to government customers and sales teams.
  • Relationship Building — Owns the relationship with senior-level government decision makers and industry partners with trust and integrity.
  • People Leadership — Mobilize, orchestrate, mentor, and lead the Yorktel team, partners, and customer to advance a complex digital transformation journey.
  • Business Development Acumen — Articulate the joint business plan and drive opportunity generation across Government, Information Technology, Collaboration, Telco, and Media; manage end-to-end sales processes from initial contact to delivery closure.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of the public sector customer segment, market dynamics, and public sector contracts and requirements.
  • Comfortable managing relationships with executive-level contacts.
  • Excellent ability to interface with clients and manage multiple priorities.
  • Dedication and commitment to get the job done.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing concepts.
  • Proven track record of winning and closing deals in competitive public sector environments, and identifying new opportunities.
  • High capacity to learn and adapt.
  • Knowledge of Yorktel policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to accommodate limited weekend and/or night work.
  • Domestic and international travel as required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with a positive driving record; passport is desirable.
  • Must be willing to complete background checks and drug tests as required by contracts; may be required to apply for security clearances.
Technical
  • Technical dialog — Coordinating technical sessions to drive solution discussions using published solution architectures.
  • Technical demonstration — Work with technical teams to demonstrate Yorktel solutions in demo environments.
  • Leadership — Experience with large, cross-functional teams.
  • Competitive landscape — Knowledge of enterprise software solutions, cloud and data-center infrastructure, collaboration software and hardware.
  • Partners — Understanding of partner ecosystems and leveraging partner solutions to meet customer needs.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and/or business or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Limited weekend and/or night work may be required.
  • Must be able to pass suitability requirements and background checks, as required by contracts.
