HVAC Tour Mechanic; DD

Job Summary

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a HVAC Tour Mechanic in Herndon. The position monitors, troubleshoots, and maintains equipment in the Central Utility Plant and Dulles Discovery buildings. The schedule is a rotating shift schedule and the role is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

• Monitor site operations through the BMCS control system.
• Assist with the maintenance of site equipment and building structure.
• Assist General Maintenance Workers with the maintenance and repairs of the building air systems on the site.
• Assist with the troubleshooting of all equipment on site.
• Perform preventive maintenance of all equipment on site.
• Institute corrective action and/or inform the supervisor of any deficiencies found while performing the job.
• Supervise plumbers and general maintenance workers as directed by the supervisor.
• Monitor subcontractors in their tasks and provide reports when needed.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

• CFC Universal
• Journeyman HVAC License, or MD Class 1 Engineer, or DC 3rd Class, or equivalent.
• Must have mechanical electrical experience.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in maintenance and repairs on commercial‑industrial building equipment, including:
  • Chillers ≥ 500 tons
  • Pumps
  • Air Handlers
  • Cooling Towers
  • Heat Exchangers
  • VAV’s
• Demonstrate the ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of chiller plant operations.
• Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of building air systems.
• Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an ISSA TS/SCI with Poly clearance.

• Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs / push up to 100 lbs).
• Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing / walking.
• Push / pull or move / lift equipment, supplies, parts.
• Manual dexterity and mobility.
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
