Application Developer

Piper Companies is looking for a
Application Developer to join a government contractor supporting a national security initiative. This role requires the candidate to have an active Top Secret Clearance and report onsite to the client location in Herndon, VA.

Essential Duties of the Application Developer
:

• Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle
• Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software
• Correct program errors, compiling documentation of program development, and analyzing system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls
• Ensure software standards are defined and met

Qualifications of the Application Developer
:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2-10 years professional Java development experience
• Proven ability to work with XML and experience in COTS/FOSS integration and support
• Ability to troubleshoot and navigate multiple operating system environments including LINUX/Windows
• Experience with Angular and Kubernetes is a huge plus
• Active Top Secret security clearance required

Compensation for the Application Developer
:

• $130,000 - $150,000+ (based on experience)
