Amanda Wise Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Java Software Engineer to support a Government Consulting company located in Herndon VA through 100% onsite work. The Java Software Engineer will provide Agile Dev Ops support for mission‑critical systems while developing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise software, cloud environments, and operational tools.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain software systems, tools, and applications within a Dev Ops environment
Support the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, coding, testing, and implementation
Deliver Agile Dev Ops support for mission‑critical and cloud‑based systems
Contribute to the design, development, and testing of customer solutions
Oversee operations and maintenance activities for essential systems
Qualifications:
Experience with Java software development
Knowledge of Dev Sec Ops practices and methodologies
Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, Azure Dev Ops)
Background working within Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Active TS/SCI clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Poly Preferred:
Full‑stack and web development experience
Experience designing/documenting microservice‑based architectures
Experience with relational and No
SQL databases
Background in distributed systems
Skills in debugging or testing web applications and services
Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
Understanding of security best practices (vulnerability scanning, penetration testing)
Compensation:
Salary:
Up to $200,000, (some flexibility depending on experience)
