As a Chief Supervisor at our Fairfax location, you will assist the General Manager in all aspects of daily location functions. We are seeking customer service‑oriented professionals dedicated to safety.
SalaryCompetitive compensation package of $65,000 – $69,000.

- Lead supervisor in day‑to‑day management of assigned area – Field Services, Dispatch, BOCC, Operations, and Station Services.
- Oversee all operations functions and provide daily management of Fixed Route service.
- Supervise and manage daily operations of fixed route service ensuring compliance with city, local, state and federal laws.
- Communicate with the FCDOT, safety and county departments, and other local entities; maintain courteous and informative communications with the public.
- Manage operational daily KPI (OT, Standby Utilization, On‑time Performance, GUT, Late Gates, Dispatch errors).
- Coordinate schedules and assign work of Transportation Services Supervisors, Dispatch, Bus Operators and Extra‑Board Operators.
- Attend grievance and arbitration proceedings as required.
- Oversee complaint process and make recommendations to Management Team.
- Manage operating issues arising from vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and missed or late routes.
- Conduct ride checks and pre‑trip checks; monitor performance and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in staff selection interviews and recommend hires.
- Respond via mobile device during and outside normal working hours if required.
- Maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
- Provide feedback to safety and operations departments on safety hazards.
- Assist in determining preventability of accidents and making recommendations for training.
- Conduct site checks and road observations; document findings.
- Cooperate with the Bus Operations Control Center on rerouting due to traffic conditions.
- Ensure operators meet uniform, equipment, licensing and certification standards.
- Develop and maintain a supervisor schedule per the CBA.
- Lead front‑line supervisors and transit operators; model positive leadership.
- Investigate employee misconduct including customer complaints.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and BOCC on road calls and bus replacements.
- Assist BOCC and Dispatch with strategic bus deployment.
- Maintain a commitment to a diverse workforce.
- Support safety and security in Operations, including advising management.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL A or B with passenger endorsement.
- Previous experience in training or field supervision preferred.
- Ability to obtain all relevant training and certifications.
- Experience with passenger transportation in a similar environment preferred.
- Excellent safety and service record.
- Knowledge of local training program and local operations.
- Familiarity with service area.
- Necessary certifications per local contract requirements.
- Ability to manage emergency situations.
- Knowledge of vehicle components and communications systems.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations and corporate safety programs.
- Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with all departments.
- Independence and objectivity in work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical exam; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 applies.
- Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Work involves long periods of sitting, typing or looking at a computer screen.
- Work environment is a combination of indoor and outdoor settings.
