Due to a reorganisation within the Admin Department, we are looking for a part time Administrator to work within our busy, friendly GP Practice.
This is a part time role for 34 hours a week. The work pattern will be:
- Tuesday: 08:00 - 17:00
- Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00
- Friday: 08:00 - 17:00
You will need to have previous experience from working in a GP Practice or NHS, have excellent IT skills, be able to work under pressure and have great attention to detail. You must be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

Main duties of the jobYou will be required to carry out a range of administrative jobs to include monitoring the Practice administration email account, processing 3rd party insurance and solicitor requests/reports, contacting patients for follow ups, booking blood test appointments, filing and scanning of incoming documents, and answering the bypass phone line.
Full training will be provided.

Job Summary:
To provide administrative support tomembers of the secretarial, administration and management team.
Job responsibilities:
Scanning and electronic discharges. Scan patient correspondence onto the medical record and workflow to correct route.
Monitoring Practice email account and action accordingly.
Patient liaison. Contact patients to organise appointments, further tests etc at the request of the GPs.
Processing 3rd party insurance and solicitors requests/reports.
Answering the Practice bypass phone line.
Any other tasks that may be required for the effective day to day running of the practice.

Health & Safety:
The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining theirown and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health& Safety Policy, the practice Health & Safety Manual, and the practice
Infection Control policy and published procedures. This will include:
- Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines
- Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
- Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills
- Using appropriate infection control procedures,maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
- Actively reporting of health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised
- Keeping own work areas and general / patient areas generally clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holders role
- Undertaking periodic infection control training(minimum annually)
