At Herne Bay High, we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join our dedicated and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to teach English across Key Stages 3 to 5 while also contributing to our innovative Foundational Knowledge Curriculum.
This role includes teaching English alongside 14 periods per fortnight within our Foundational Knowledge Curriculum, a bespoke provision designed to support a small group of students who require additional support with their learning. Within this provision, you will teach a range of subjects including English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities, helping students develop core knowledge, literacy, numeracy and learning skills in a nurturing classroom environment.

Your Role
As part of our English team, you will play a key role in delivering an engaging and knowledge-rich curriculum while supporting students within our Foundational Knowledge provision.
You will:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Inspire a love of reading, writing and literature.
- Teach 14 periods per week within our Foundational Knowledge Curriculum, delivering English, Mathematics, and Humanities to a small group of lower-attaining students.
- Develop students' literacy, communication, numeracy and independent learning skills.
- Track and support student progress through effective feedback and targeted intervention.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning.
- Maintain high expectations for student achievement, engagement and behaviour.
