Shift: Day Shift - 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday - Thursday)

Position Overview

Quality Technicians inspect all products throughout production and pre‑shipment to ensure they meet our high standards for precision and durability, they play a role in inspecting and ensuring that products meet blueprint specifications and other fit, form and function related specifications. They are also responsible for maintaining and validating measuring equipment/gauges for Quality as well as issuing to operators and co‑workers, ensuring accurate product inspection at their workstations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Kit measuring instruments for upcoming machine changeovers to minimize downtime.
  • Reading and comprehension of blueprints, data, manuals, SOPs or other documentation to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification process, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
  • Problem solving for non‑conforming issues that may arise within the shop.
  • Regularly create and implement process improvements.
  • Operation of our coordinate measuring machine, keyence optical measurement system, surface roughness tester and other advanced metrology equipment.
  • Execute regular quality certification service (QCS) on products.
  • Reporting features or parts that don’t conform to print of design intent (NCR).
  • Examine and verify supplier‑provided documentation, including first article inspection reports (FAIRs), certificates of conformance, and various test reports.
  • Using precision measuring tools to conduct detailed visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Validate and maintain all measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, thread gauges, etc.
  • Document all inspection results, making clear acceptance or rejection decisions and generate required reports for clients.
  • Comply with safe work practices; understanding work injury procedures, workers comp, and OSHA standards.
  • Provide support to the shop floor to uphold Syndicate’s quality standards of all products.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments to interpret specifications, troubleshoot quality problems, and provide input for design improvements.
  • Solid foundation in shop math, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, as well as hands‑on experience with precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers.

Job Qualifications (Required)
  • High school diploma required.
  • 1 year of manufacturing quality work experience.
Job Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Knowledge and experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics, knowledge of the imperial system/decimal inch, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and other applications.
  • Quality analysis – conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Critical thinking – using logic and reasoning to suggest alternative solutions to problems, arriving at conclusions through data, research, and information and ideas presented through spoken word. The ability to apply skills both internally and externally.
  • Basic computer skills – experience with Excel, Word, Solidworks, PowerPoint, and Google Suite is a plus.
  • Detail‑oriented – inspection requires meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the firearms industry.
