Milton Hershey School (MHS) is currently seeking a Middle Division Assistant Musical Director. The responsibility of the position will be to assist the director in coordinating efforts to produce the Middle Division spring musical. The Assistant Musical Director works closely with the Visual and Performing Arts Director and team to deliver a production of the highest quality. A holistic, team approach that supports MHS Sacred Values and reinforces the development of students’ social and emotional competencies is required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent, bachelor’s degree in theatre is a plus.
  • Minimum 2-year experience performing in middle/high school or college groups.
  • Minimum 2-year experience instructing theatre including musicals.
  • Demonstrated success in developing students’ performance skills.
  • Experience leading rehearsals and providing constructive & encouraging feedback.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and positive in outlook, inspiring others to exemplify those same traits.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for MHS students.
  • Candidates must be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
