Position specificsThe Department of Radiology Health Physics at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA is seeking a non‑tenure line Diagnostic Medical Physicist (Assistant Professor) to support imaging physics activities at the College and at Penn State Health's five medical centers and numerous outpatient clinics. This position provides physics support for a customizable selection of modalities (radiographic, fluoroscopic, CT, ultrasound, mammographic, MR, or nuclear medicine/PET imaging).
Core responsibilities include:
- Acceptance testing, routine performance testing, and quality assurance oversight.
- ACR accreditation support, radiation shielding and dosimetry calculations.
- Clinical research support, and education/training of technologists, physicist assistants, medical residents, and physicians.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree (MS, DMP, or PhD) in medical physics or related discipline.
- At least two years of experience in clinical diagnostic radiology/nuclear medicine physics, including residency if applicable.
- Board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Medical Physics from the American Board of Radiology.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and written/oral communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a collaborative team while demonstrating strong individual initiative.
