Responsible for providing assistance with various health care services, obtaining specimens, conducting routine lab studies, and assisting with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling phone messages. Serves as a trained preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and instruction of medical assistant students.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required
- Two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient practice or clinical specialty area required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Associate’s Degree
