Position: Staff Pharmacist (Per Diem) - Pharmacy Services Main

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center

Location: Hershey, PA
Work Type: PRN (Part-Recurring)
FTE: 0.001
Shift: Varied (Day, Evening, Every 3rd Weekend)
Shift Differentials: Evening $2.00/hour, Night $2.50/hour

Job Summary

Responsible for assuring safe, rational, and cost-effective drug therapy for patients within the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center by ensuring the accuracy of drug dispensing, evaluating physician orders, monitoring drug therapy, communicating with all providers involved in the care of patients regarding pharmacotherapy issues, participating in assuring adherence to Medical Center drug use policy, and providing pharmacotherapy education and information for physicians, nurses, residents, students, and patients.

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. or Pharm.

    D. degree in pharmacy required.
  • Current Pennsylvania Licensure or eligibility required.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Effective communicator with excellent time management and conflict resolution skills.

  • Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
  • Able to lift 0‑10 lbs constantly; 11‑35 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to carry 0‑10 lbs frequently; 11‑35 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to push 0‑10 lbs constantly; 11‑20 lbs frequently; 21‑35 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to pull 0‑20 lbs frequently; 21‑35 lbs occasionally.
  • Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
  • Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
