Summary of Position:
The Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN will provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the direction of a registered nurse or provider. The LPN will observe, report and record medical information and nursing care provided in the electronic medical record. The LPN will instruct patients and families according to the teaching plans. The LPN will communicate with the healthcare team to facilitate the coordination of individualized patient care.
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to assigned patients under RN or provider direction.
- Observe, report and record medical information and nursing care in the EMR.
- Instruct patients and families according to teaching plans.
- Communicate with healthcare team to coordinate individualized patient care.
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by state of employment or holds multistate LPN license through interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to completion of orientation.
Able to stand and sit constantly; walk frequently.
Able to lift/carry 0–10 lbs. frequently; 11–50 lbs. occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0–20 lbs. frequently; 21–75 lbs. occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
