Overview

Nursing Professional Development Generalist - Adult Critical Care at Penn State Health, Hershey Medical Center.

Location:

Hershey, PA. Work Type:
Full Time. FTE: 1.00.

Shift: Day.

Hours:

8:00a - 4:30p.

The Nursing Professional Development Generalist supports the quality of care provided to patients by the Department of Nursing staff through optimal orientation programs, ongoing evaluation of competence, and support of lifelong learning. The role promotes professional development opportunities and mentorship for nursing staff at all levels to help achieve personal and professional goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead orientation programs for nursing staff and ensure competency evaluation.
  • Develop and deliver evidence-based education programs for adult critical care.
  • Mentor nursing staff and support ongoing professional development goals.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to advance standard of care and clinical excellence in a high-acuity environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Nursing
  • At least three (3) years’ experience as a registered nurse
  • Must obtain Master’s degree in nursing or related field within five (5) years of hire
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the Interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
  • AHA BLS prior to the end of the orientation period
Preferred Qualifications
  • Adult Intensive Care (ICU) experience preferred
  • Teaching experience preferred
