Overview
Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center (HOSC) is seeking a PRN Pre/Post Op RN to join our Perianesthesia Team. We are looking for an experienced RN with ICU or recent PACU experience. Current PA RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Certification in specialty is preferred, but not required. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, dayshift. We provide a work-life balance that includes weekends, nights and holidays off.
No call.
HOSC is a multispecialty surgery center that includes orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, GYN, pain management, ENT, and plastics. Our patient population includes pediatric and adults throughout the lifespan. Our physicians and anesthesia providers are part of Penn State Health’s, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Job SummaryThe RN has the responsibility to plan, direct organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care services for the pre- or post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care. Will the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care while maintaining compliance with professional nursing, JCAHO, and all Federal and State standards of care. The Pre-Op/Post-Op RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
RequiredSkills and Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- At least one year experience as a RN in hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit.
- Active RN license in the state.
- BLS
- Current ACLS/PALS preferred or included in education plan.
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
- Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
