Overview
Postdoctoral Scholar - Neurosurgery at Penn State University – Department of Neurosurgery, Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, PA.
This position is supported by multiple NIH-funded grants and focuses on investigating novel mechanisms and treatments for neurovascular injury and vascular dementia.
Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory work including tissue harvesting and processing for RNA/protein extraction, PCR, RT-qPCR, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
- Work with mouse models related to vascular dementia and perform neurobehavioral testing as applicable.
- Assist in drafting manuscripts for publication and contribute to training of students and technical staff.
- PhD (or MD) in neuroscience or a closely related field, with proficiency in English required.
- Experience with molecular biology and histology techniques relevant to the lab’s focus.
- Experience with mouse models related to vascular dementia and related behavioral assessments is highly desirable.
