Responsible for the repair, maintenance and upgrade of the facilities refrigerated equipment including process chillers, lab equipment, HVAC, refrigerators, freezers, growth chambers, walk‑in boxes, and ice machines. Responsible for scheduling and performing preventive maintenance of assigned equipment. Responsible for performing duties in compliance with EPA regulations and departmental policies.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Training in refrigeration and electronics required.
- Five (5) years job‑related experience in residential or industrial refrigeration and mechanical trades required.
- Computer skills preferred. EPA certification as a Universal Refrigerant Technician is required.
- Must be able to braze, solder, cut, form and assemble a variety of materials, and disassemble, repair and replace a variety of refrigerated equipment.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must pass a written test and hands‑on skills demonstration with a score of 75% or greater.
- Vocational technical school training in refrigeration and electronics arena preferred.
- Industrial refrigeration experience preferred.
- Operation of tractors, forklifts, high lifts and other types of equipment preferred.
