A forward-thinking accountancy practice just outside Ware is looking to welcome a motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to their close-knit team. You’ll be joining a friendly office where collaboration is key, and everyone plays a valued part in delivering a reliable, personal service. This position offers both structure and flexibility, along with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as you grow in confidence.

• Prepare year-end accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Compile working papers and ensure all supporting documentation is accurate and complete
• Assist clients with day-to-day queries relating to accounts and tax matters
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, as well as review bookkeeping records
• Support the preparation of management accounts when required
• Help clients make the switch to digital accounting software and remain compliant with MTD regulations
• Offer occasional assistance with payroll processing tasks

• Experience working within an accountancy practice environment
• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent)
• Confident in preparing accounts and VAT returns, with solid bookkeeping knowledge
• Familiar with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage, or IRIS
• Organised, proactive and able to manage your own workload effectively
• A strong communicator who enjoys being part of a team
