An upcoming opportunity has arisen for an experienced Capital Accountant to join a large public sector organisation in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to further develop their expertise in capital accounting, fixed assets, lease accounting, and technical financial reporting within a complex and rewarding environment.

You will play a key role in supporting the organisation's capital programme, maintaining the fixed asset register, overseeing lease accounting under IFRS 16, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with accounting standards and public sector financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring all asset transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
• Monitor expenditure against the capital programme and provide detailed financial reporting and analysis.
• Lead on lease accounting under IFRS 16, ensuring compliance and maintaining accurate lease records.
