Family Law Administrator — Part-time Maternity Cover

Ready to bring your family law support skills to a firm that genuinely invests in its people? Join a recognised, people-focused legal team and play a key role in a friendly, ambitious Family department.

We’re looking for a part-time Family Law Executive with 2 years’ experience to provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support during a 12-month maternity cover contract. You’ll work 17.5–20 hours per week from their Hertford office, supporting Partners and fee earners with varied, meaningful work.

What you’ll do:

You’ll help keep the Family department running smoothly, delivering efficient support, excellent client care, and accurate administration across a busy legal workload.

* Manage diaries, enquiries, file administration, billing support and client account tasks.

* Prepare legal documents, court forms, bundles, exhibits and cost update letters.

* File documents with HMCTS, request records, support audio dictation and keep matters moving.

* Deliver professional, confidential and reassuring client care at every stage.

* Work closely with Partners, fee earners and colleagues while supporting the team’s profile and social media activity.

This is a varied role, so you may also support other reasonable tasks from time to time, including occasional travel to other offices.

What we expect from you:

* You have at least two years’ relevant experience and strong legal administration skills.

* You’re organised, accurate, discreet and confident juggling priorities.

* You care about excellent client service and take pride in doing things properly.

* You bring a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy being part of a supportive team.

What you can expect from us:

* Flexible and hybrid working.

* A supportive environment with one-to-ones, department meetings and appraisals.

* Clear development opportunities and a structured career path.

* Bonus schemes, pension, Employee Assistance Programme and Healthcare Cash Plan.

* Financial well-being support, social and well-being initiatives, and regular staff events.

Sound like your next move? We’d love to hear from you. Full job description available on Mission4
