About the Company:

This business is one of my top clients. Having worked with them for the past 15+ years, I have seen them develop in both size and capability over this time. They currently turnover above £100 million per annum, building concrete frame and groundwork packages ranging in value up to £40 million each for a variety of residential and commercial contractors and developers throughout London and the surrounding Home Counties.

They have a very modern edge to the business while maintaining traditional roots, and are without doubt one of the best firms in this sector. Each of the directors are excellent in their own right, but what I love about this business is the harmony between them as a collective, as they work together towards the common goals, with no politics, no hot-headed individuals, and a real balance.

Not every business has that, and you can feel that harmony when you spend time with any of them.

On a personal note, I believe this company is one of the best not only for the projects they help complete but also because of the environment they create for the people who work there. They go that extra mile to not only retain their staff but to truly keep them happy to be with the business. Small things have been added to the office, like a gym that people have access to all day, with extra half an hour breaks given three times a week for anyone who wants to use it.

They really are a great company to work for to gain great project experience, to develop capability in modern construction techniques and to be part of the values they believe in.

About the Position:

Our client is looking to strengthen their existing team by adding an experienced Estimator / Senior Estimator to the ranks.

This role will involve the usual duties, such as putting together tenders for concrete frame and groundwork packages in and around London for residential and commercial schemes. Usual package values you will be expected to target will range from £5m up to £30m each, with some projects going above this and some or all of the following duties:

* Preparation of tender submissions

* Measuring and take-offs from drawings

* Producing bills-of-quantities

* Cost Planning

* Pre and post-contract meetings with clients

* Build-up of tender price from first principles based on plans, programme and scope of works

About the Requirements:

For this role, I am looking for someone who has previous experience working for an RC Frame or Groundwork subcontractor in the UK in an estimating capacity. It is important that you have the knowledge of pricing and producing tenders for Concrete Frame and Groundwork packages in and around the South East and London to be considered. That is it.

About the Salary / Remuneration:

Due to the nature of this role, I am looking to target candidates currently earning anywhere from £80,000 to £120,000 per annum (self-employed options are available, as well as PAYE).

Salaries/rates will be negotiable at the point of interview, depending on the level of experience.

With the basic salary, our client offers the usual package of car allowance and benefits, plus they offer an annual bonus to all staff.
