Salary: £34,398 – £52,490 (M1–UPS3, in line with teacher pay scales)
Teach Now is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher to join a successful and supportive Science department from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an ECT or experienced teacher to inspire curiosity and a love of Chemistry in students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of contributing to A-Level teaching for a suitably qualified candidate.

The school is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status. It is an over-subscribed, high-performing, non-selective school, rated “Good” by Ofsted, and prides itself on welcoming every student, setting no barriers to entry and making no presumptions about academic or social background. The school operates from a modern building with excellent state-of-the-art facilities designed to support high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Chemistry lessons that meet the needs of all learners

• Teach Chemistry across KS3 and KS4 with the opportunity to teach KS5 where appropriate

• Use a variety of teaching strategies to promote scientific enquiry, practical skills and curiosity

• Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with school policies

• Contribute to the development of the Chemistry curriculum and wider Science provision

• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and student engagement

• Take an active role in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school activities

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold (or be working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Be a Chemistry specialist or a Science teacher with a strong Chemistry background

• Be an enthusiastic, reflective practitioner with high expectations of students

• Have a commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding

• Be keen to contribute positively to the wider life of the school

• ECTs will receive a structured induction and dedicated mentoring to support their professional development and success.

Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary of £52,490 is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to M6.
