September 2026 (ASAP) Teach Now is recruiting for eight SEN Learning Support Assistant vacancies at a specialist school supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with severe and complex learning difficulties. Opportunities are available across both primary and secondary phases. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a growing specialist team and help pupils develop their communication, confidence, independence and essential life skills.

Approximately 80% of pupils are autistic, so calm, consistent and relationship-focused support is central to the role.

• Provide individual and small-group support across the school day.
• Help pupils access learning and develop greater independence.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Follow individual support plans and positive behaviour strategies.
• Assist pupils with practical activities and essential life skills.
• Provide personal care respectfully and maintain pupils dignity.
• Support pupils during hydrotherapy sessions and physical-development activities.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider specialist support team.
• Help maintain a calm, structured and encouraging learning environment.

• Patient, compassionate, resilient and dependable.
• Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Confident working with autistic pupils and following individual strategies.
• Comfortable providing personal care as an essential part of the role.
• Willing to support hydrotherapy activities.
• A strong communicator who works well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Previous specialist-school experience is welcomed but not essential. Candidates with relevant experience in education, care, youth work, healthcare or other support settings are also encouraged to apply.

• Ensure that you will have your own dedicated consultant who will provide ongoing support and guidance.
• Offer an excellent refer a friend scheme that pays you £150 for each candidate you refer to us after they have worked and been paid for their first 10 days.
• Pay in line with the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) meaning you will be paid equally to a permanent employee.
• Give you access to a wide range of CPD training through our in-house team of experienced senior leaders
