We are seeking a Senior Transport Planner or an experienced Transport Planner to join our team in Hertford. This is a varied role, working as part of WSP's UK-wide Mobility & Transport Planning team, but core responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the delivery of our portfolio of projects with a focus on active travel, public transport, strategy development and business case support.
• Leading and managing tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team and producing high-quality outputs in line with client requirements.
• Making a positive contribution to the commercial performance of the team, recognising key metrics and understanding how individual and project team performance contributes to them.
• Actively contributing to our four key pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Technical Excellence).

We undertake a wide range of transport planning technical work for our clients, as well as having an extensive portfolio of multi-disciplinary and cross‑sector services, including active travel solutions; public transport network planning; scheme development and appraisal; business case development and Government funding applications for all types of transport schemes; economic appraisal; transport strategy and policy development.

• Experience in active travel, public transport, scheme development and/or business case development.
• Experience in developing transport-focused strategies, plans and policies.
• Experience in working with Local Authority and/or private sector clients.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to successfully deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to manage tasks and support wider team management in leading more junior members.
