Trainee Acoustic Specialist

Are you a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a specialist engineering career?

Join an industry-leading noise control and acoustics specialist based in Hertford. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on experience on live engineering projects, combining core office-based design and technical analysis with occasional UK site visits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support senior engineers in designing bespoke noise control and acoustic engineering solutions from initial concept to delivery.
  • Perform acoustic calculations, data input, and technical analysis for client projects.
  • Assist with testing, investigations, and practical problem-solving on site and in the office.
  • Help coordinate ongoing project timelines and contracting administration.
  • Ensure all technical work complies with relevant health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Candidate Requirements:
  • A-Levels (or equivalent) in Maths, Science, Design & Technology, or an Engineering-related subject.
  • Solid understanding of basic engineering principles with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Competent with MS Office (Excel/Word). Basic CAD or prior acoustics exposure is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Some practical or project-based engineering experience.
  • Eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and ideally a full UK driving licence for site visits.
