Event Co-ordinator

Location – Hertford

Salary – £28,000 to £30,000 per annum

Role Type – Permanent, Office-based

A leading organiser of large-scale outdoor consumer events is looking for an Event Co-ordinator to join their operations team.

This is a brilliant first or second step for someone early in their events career who wants to learn properly. You will be working across a portfolio of established shows, including the Game Fairs which run twice a year in Scotland and the Midlands, alongside experienced event professionals who genuinely invest in developing the people around them. The training and support here is a real strength of the business, not a line on a job advert.

The Role

Working within the operations team, you will support the planning and delivery of outdoor consumer events across the UK, from early planning through to onsite delivery.

You will get hands‑on exposure to every part of the event, and you will be given real responsibility as you grow into the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the operations team with the planning and delivery of a portfolio of outdoor events
  • Assist with supplier, contractor and venue co‑ordination
  • Support exhibitor communications and logistics
  • Attend site visits and contractor meetings
  • Support build, live event days and breakdown onsite
  • Assist with schedules, documentation and operational administration
  • Help maintain health and safety compliance and operational standards
  • Work closely with internal teams across marketing, sales and operations
  • Get stuck in and problem‑solve during live event days
About You
  • An events degree, or a related degree, is ideal
  • Some experience in events, ideally outdoor events, whether that is placement, seasonal, volunteer or a first role
  • Organised, with an eye for detail and the ability to juggle several things at once
  • A positive, hands‑on attitude and a willingness to get involved with whatever the event needs
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable speaking to suppliers, contractors and exhibitors
  • Happy working in a fast‑paced environment and out on site when the events are live
  • Keen to learn, take feedback and build a long‑term career in events

Candidates from festivals, agricultural and county shows, sporting events, consumer shows, exhibitions or similar live event environments are encouraged to apply.

Benefits
  • Excellent training and structured support, with experienced mentors who will develop you
  • The chance to work on established, well‑loved shows including the Game Fairs in Scotland and the Midlands
  • Private healthcare following probation
  • Mileage reimbursement for site visits
  • Company‑wide annual incentive trips
  • Tickets to industry events and shows
  • Clear career development within a growing events business

If you are starting out in events and you want to learn from people who deliver outdoor events brilliantly, we would love to hear from you.
