Location: Hertford (on site 5 days, 9-5 and flexible working around core hours)

Salary: £60-65,000 + Bonus

We're supporting a fast-growing, international pharmaceutical business to recruit a Finance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, technically strong finance professional who enjoys ownership, responsibility and working in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.

The role offers broad exposure across financial accounting, VAT, intercompany accounting and compliance, with the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement as the business continues to scale internationally.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you'll support the day-to-day financial operations of the group, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and compliance across multiple entities and territories.

• Managing the month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and full balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensuring accurate revenue recognition and allocation across revenue streams
• Ownership of intercompany accounting, including reconciliations, recharges, transfer pricing adjustments and settlements
• Acting as the VAT subject matter expert, including postponed import VAT and cross-border VAT compliance
• Preparing, reviewing and submitting VAT returns across multiple territories
• Overseeing core accounting activities across the general ledger, purchase ledger and sales ledger
• Supporting corporation tax compliance, including tax computations, capital allowances and year-end provisioning
• Overseeing payment processes, authorisation controls and cash management
• Assisting with external audits, statutory reporting and regulatory filings
• Contributing to improvements in financial controls, governance and systems

About You

This role would suit a qualified or part-qualified accountant who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, international environment.

You'll bring:

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification (or actively studying)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly VAT and
• Experience of intercompany accounting
• Audit experience and confidence working with external auditors
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong Excel and financial systems capability
• A proactive, accountable mindset with a collaborative working style
