Job overviewWe are recruiting for Clinical Support Workers - Theatres who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You must be 18+ to undertake this post.
You will work alongside Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners, get Theatre ready, making sure the correct equipment is available while maintaining a sterile environment. You will assist the registered practitioner, ensuring excellent patient care is given, that align with our trust values.
This role could see you work in any of the Theatre areas, both at the Lister or QE2. You would help in setting up your allocated Theatre, making sure all the equipment needed for the day is ready and available.
You will also be trained in the Pre-Op area, where you will take basic patient observations, and stay with them until they are called to Theatre.

The Maths and English assessment will take place on Friday 30th January 2026. The assessment day is in person only. Interviews will take place at a later date.

Person specification Qualifications / Training- GCSEs (or equivalent qualification or standard) in English and Math
- Care Certificate
- Health and Social Care Level 2
- Experience of healthcare or care work
- Experience of working with the general public or a range of different people
- Ability to communicate effectively people with varying levels of understanding
- Evidence of being self-motivated
- Evidence of working effectively as part of a team
- Basic IT skills – ability to use keyboard or willingness to develop
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work in a busy, sometimes pressurized environment
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to use judgement on when to escape issues and problems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to use them to communicate effectively with patients within a multi-disciplinary team
