Our People team is built to operate as a lean, high-performing team, designed from the ground up with AI at the centre of how we work, not bolted on afterwards. As we build toward 2027, the goal is a People function that stays small by choice - where automation carries the operational load, and the team's time goes into the people initiatives that genuinely move the business forward.

We're looking for an AI-curious People Ops professional to take ownership of our people operations as they run today, and to build the automated systems that will run them tomorrow. This is a dual mandate role; from day one you're accountable for the operational processes as they currently stand while continuously looking for the parts of that work that can be templated, triggered or automated away entirely.

You’ll run the operational machine behind our People function, covering the full breadth of the employee lifecycle. This will include onboarding, employee relations, implementing our performance framework through to offboarding. You will be the key holder to our HRIS system and outsourced HR suppliers and vendors.

You’ll partner closely with our Talent Acquisition Specialist and People Leader throughout, since you will own and transform the processes that allow them to deliver. Success looks like the same volume of work getting done with steadily less manual effort, and the time that frees up going into higher-value people work rather than being absorbed by more admin.

This is a one-off career opportunity for a junior people person who wants to lead the AI implementation for a people function and take ownership for the operational delivery. You will be establishing what a progressive, AI-first people operations function looks like in practice.

This is a permanent, part-time role. You'll work 3 days a week, with three of those in our Hertford office on non-consecutive days.

You’ll be accountable for the administrative activities associated with recruiting, that moves a warm candidate into a signed contract and a ready-to-start new hire, working in close partnership with TAS so recruitment never stalls on process or paperwork. For example coordinating interview times with candidates, and booking these in the diary; supporting the TA Specialist through the closing stages of a hire so candidates experience a fast, consistent process.

Every document that marks a change in someone's employment - starting, changing role, going on leave, leaving - will sit with you. You will own getting the information right and getting the documents out on time. Over time, you'll progressively turn one-off drafting into generated, review-and-send workflows.

Examples of the ground this covers: new starter setup, from paperwork through to BambooHR entry and induction as well as salary review letters, maternity/paternity and flexible working paperwork, and leaver documentation.

You own the accuracy and structure of our data in BambooHR, treating it as the single source of truth rather than a system that gets updated when someone remembers to. That means building the reconciliation and validation habits (ideally automated ones) that catch…
