39 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 7:45 to 16:45. Friday 7:45 to 12:45

We are recruiting on behalf of an established engineering company in Hertford for an Assembler to join the team on a 12‑month fixed term contract. This is a hands‑on position within a busy production environment, working on precision components and assemblies.

This role would suit someone with experience as an Assembly Operative, Production Operative, Mechanical Assembler, Manufacturing Operative, or Workshop Technician. If you have worked in manufacturing, engineering, electronics, automotive, aerospace, or a similar technical environment, your skills could transfer well.

• Assemble components and products following technical drawings and written instructions
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and engineering documents
• Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment
• Carry out quality checks to ensure accuracy and high standards
• Work closely with colleagues in production and engineering teams
• Maintain a clean and organised work area

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, or diagrams
• Basic maths skills and confidence with measurements
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Practical, hands‑on approach to work
• Reliable and able to work as part of a team

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly

This position could suit someone currently working as an Assembly Technician, Production Technician, Machine Operative, Engineering Operative, or Warehouse Operative with mechanical assembly experience. It may also appeal to individuals with vocational training in engineering or those looking to gain further experience within a structured manufacturing setting.
