Materials Expeditor

Location: Hertfordshire

Join our team and play a key role in keeping our production moving.
We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and hands‑on Production Materials Expeditor to support our busy shop floor and Stores department. If you enjoy problem‑solving, working with people, and keeping operations running smoothly, this could be the perfect role for you.

🔧 What you’ll be doing

As our Production Materials Expeditor, you’ll be the go‑to person for ensuring the right materials are available at the right time. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

* Acting as the first point of contact for any material shortages or issues on the shop floor or in Stores.

* Picking, issuing, and delivering materials to keep production running efficiently.

* Managing the shortage sheet and monitoring shop floor stock levels.

* Ordering materials and expediting outstanding purchase orders with Goods In.

* Covering the Service Hatch in Stores and supporting wider Stores tasks when needed.

* Following health & safety, AS/EN 9100, ISO 9001, and environmental standards to uphold our high operational integrity.

* Supporting the Stores Supervisor and wider team with additional duties as required.

🎯 What you bring

Essential

* A good general level of education (GCSEs or equivalent).

* Experience in a similar materials, logistics, or expediting role.

* Strong computer skills — especially within Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).

* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

* Confident communication skills and the ability to remain positive and adaptable.

* Ability to prioritise workload and keep processes running smoothly.

Desirable

* Experience with ERP systems (e.g., EPICOR).

You'll report directly to the Stores Supervisor and work day‑to‑day alongside the Stores and shop floor teams.
