The Role
This is a full-time, field-based role for a Window & Door Service Engineer (Surveying & Repairs) providing service and repair coverage across Greater London.
The role involves surveying, servicing, and repairing a wide range of window and door systems, combining detailed inspections with high-quality technical repair work. You will be expected to work to defined standards, follow agreed processes, and deliver consistent, reliable outcomes across all assigned jobs.
The position requires an engineer who is comfortable working independently on site, takes ownership of their work, and maintains clear communication and documentation throughout each stage of delivery.
Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the ability to deliver both surveying and engineering responsibilities to a high professional standard.
You must have:
* Proven experience surveying, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing components across a wide range of window and door systems, with the ability to work independently on site, manage jobs end-to-end, and take ownership of outcomes.
* Strong inspection and fault-finding capability, including taking accurate measurements, assessing system condition and performance, and determining appropriate repairs, adjustments, or replacements.

* Confidence producing clear written inspection and completion reports that set out findings, required works, and outcomes, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and precision.
* A full UK driving licence, own hand and power tools suitable for window and door service and repair work, and the ability to work full contracted hours consistently.
How the Role Is Delivered

This role is primarily focused on the delivery of high-quality repairs and remedial works. You will be responsible for carrying out approved repairs accurately, efficiently, and to a consistently high professional standard, ensuring all windows and doors operate safely, smoothly, and as intended.
Repair works include mechanical adjustments, glazing replacements, sealing works, and the installation of associated remedial measures. You will take full ownership of job completion, including confirming works carried out, recording materials and labour, and providing photographic evidence where required.
Surveys, Specification & Technical Diagnosis
You will carry out structured inspection surveys to accurately diagnose faults, assess system condition and performance, and specify the correct materials and labour required to complete repairs properly first time. Survey accuracy and clear reporting are essential, as repair works are costed and approved based on your findings.
Systems, Hardware & Locksmith Work
The role involves regular work on complex operating and locking hardware. You will be expected to adjust, repair, and replace operating mechanisms and locking systems across uPVC, composite, aluminium, and timber doors and windows.
This includes work on tilt-and-turn hardware (hinges, gearboxes, and operating mechanisms), sliding, lift-and-slide, and bi-fold door systems (rollers, tracks, carriers, and locking components), as well as hinges, restrictors, shoot bolts, cylinders,…
