Are you an experienced IT professional looking for a role where you'll work with modern technologies, contribute to infrastructure projects and continue developing your technical expertise?

We're working with a successful and well-established manufacturing business to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer to join their internal IT team. Supporting a multi-site operation, you'll play a key role in maintaining and developing the organisation's infrastructure, ensuring critical systems remain secure, reliable and fit for the future.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing the organisation's IT environment, while contributing to a range of infrastructure and business improvement projects.

Your responsibilities will include:
 
Providing 2nd and 3rd line support for infrastructure-related issues
Administering and maintaining Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments
Supporting Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure
Managing VMware virtual environments and on-premise servers
Monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure, firewalls and security solutions
Supporting infrastructure upgrades, migrations and new technology implementations
Producing and maintaining technical documentation
Working closely with colleagues across the wider IT function to deliver secure, reliable and resilient IT services
Identifying opportunities to improve performance, security and operational efficiency  What You'll Bring

You'll already have experience working in an IT Infrastructure, Infrastructure Support or 2nd/3rd Line role and be confident supporting business-critical IT systems.

We're looking for someone who can bring:
 
Previous experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure in a 2nd or 3rd line capacity
A strong understanding of Microsoft server and cloud technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365
Experience working with virtualised environments, networking and infrastructure technologies, with exposure to Azure, VMware or SQL Server being advantageous
A proactive approach to troubleshooting, infrastructure improvements and technical project work
The ability to communicate technical information clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues
A genuine enthusiasm for technology and a desire to continue developing your infrastructure knowledge  

Experience with in a manufacturing or multi-site environment would be beneficial but isn't essential.
