The role
We are working in partnership with a well-established 11–18 secondary school in Northumberland to recruit a History Teacher for supply and long-term opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for a subject specialist who can bring History to life and engage pupils through well-structured, thought-provoking lessons. The Humanities department is collaborative and supportive, with clear schemes of work and a strong focus on consistency and high expectations.

£163 – £265.92 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience
Established secondary school with sixth form provision

Strong leadership and consistent behaviour systems
Supportive and experienced Humanities faculty
Located in a historic market town with rail links to Newcastle
Easily accessible by public transport and major road links
On-site parking available
Teach History across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote critical thinking
Differentiate learning to support a range of abilities
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement
Work collaboratively with department colleagues and support staff
QTS, QTLS, or equivalent UK teaching experience
Strong subject knowledge in History
Confident and consistent behaviour management
Flexible and reliable approach to supply or long-term work
Open to short-term, long-term, or permanent opportunities
PAYE only – no umbrella companies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
