About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you will bring Waitrose produce and Partner-led service to customers’ doors. You will help support the shop team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming running of the shop.
In addition to contractual pay, any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00 will attract Night Premium at £3.75 per hour. This also applies to existing Partners enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.
You must be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Begin your day in store and be responsible for delivery routes.
- Load and prepare your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery to customers.
- Complete vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance, and uphold health and safety standards.
- Represent the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as a priority.
- Assist customers with their shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
- Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
- Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
- Great customer service skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to cope with the physical requirements of the role (lifting of crates, moving cages).
- Comfortable working independently with self-motivation and adaptability.
- IT literate.
- Previous experience in a driving role and knowledge of chilled vehicles is welcomed.
Pay: £14.31 Hourly
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of Work: 15 hours per week, across seven days to include early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends between 06:15 and 22:00.
