Staff Accountant

Our client, a privately held financial services firm in the Miami area, is hiring a Staff Accountant to join a small finance team. • Prepare journal entries and monthly bank and trading reconciliations
• Support the preparation of regulatory financial reports and related schedules
• Handle month-end close tasks and maintain fixed asset, prepaid, and accrual schedules
• Monitor accounts payable and outstanding balances, and review that payments are coded correctly
• Help with budgets, forecasts, and quarterly consolidating schedules
• Work with outside auditors as the year-end audit approaches
• Take on special projects and a bit of everything else, as a small team requires

• 3+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger work and journal entries
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Experience in broker dealer or financial services accounting is strongly preferred. A candidate with solid regulatory exposure is a plus
